Salons

Giorgio Manganelli
1987 / 240 PAGES. Language: Italian edition
Giorgio Manganelli’s writings for “Salons”, his column in the FMR magazine, have all been collected in a single volume where his exquisite prose conveys the charm of the illustrated works.
Between 1985 and 1986, Franco Maria Ricci submitted all kinds of images to Giorgio Manganelli: snuffboxes and coats of arms, famous paintings and frescoes, exquisite glass and photographs, drawings and fragments of temples. Sitting motionless at his writing desk, Manganelli created his own prose based on these images, writing reports of imaginary visits. The result was the column “Salons”, published in the FMR magazine and collected here as an essential complement to fully understanding Manganelli’s perspective on figurative art.
