Ravello

A jewel of the Amalfi Coast, renowned since ancient times for its beauty and mild climate, Ravello has always attracted and inspired poets, painters and musicians with its magnificent gardens and Arab-style architecture, which have bloomed brightly and flourished in the intense sunlight and unifying sea. The cathedral (probably finished no later than the end of the 11th century), is one of the city’s main points of interest; indeed, this volume includes several illustrations of the stunning mosaic decorations of the ambo and of the magnificent pulpit upheld by six column-bearing lions, as well as the more hidden details of Ravello, of its architectural complexes and the treasures to be found in its cathedral.
